Steps to Plant the Oil Palm Seedlings and Rubber Budded Stamp

Pre Preparation
Some pre preparations are required to plant the oil palm seedlings.
1. First and foremost, you should choose the appropriate land where you want the plantation to be done.
2. At least a month before planting, you need to dig a hole at each place to put a peg.
3. After few days of this activity, fill the hole well with the soil. Make sure that no saucer shape is formed on the top while you fill the hole.
Preparation at the beginning of rainy season
The best time to plant the oil palm seedling is at the beginning of rainy season. It helps the plants to develop the root system.
Planting the seedlings
Choose the best seedlings from the nursery, on the day when you want to plant them. Take the help of a plant setter to lift and plant the seedling. You can plant it with the help of socfin and java plant setter.
After care from Plantation
1. The seedlings must be protected from the animals such as rats and insects such as palm weevil, lest they may eat them. In order to protect the small plants, you can surround them with net wires. The wire net can be left for 1.5 year.
2. In order for the seedlings to grow, you need to spray the fertilisers. The best time for fertilization is at the end of rainy season.
3. Up to 500 gms. Of ammonium sulphate and approx 250 gm. Of potassium chloride is recommended for the seedlings.
4. Weeds do not let the crop to grow well. With the help of a hoe, remove all the unwanted weeds that grow around the plantation.
5. Similar to weeds, the dry leaves which grow in plants also damage the oil palm. So those too must be cut before they grow in proportion.
