The ease painting plastic car mould

Plastic car mould has become quite common and popular in the automotive body industry. This is mainly due to its exceedingly great benefits  and properties that  make the  mould ideal for car bodies. When you want to paint this mold, it’s important  to ensure that  the mould  is specially  treated by following the right treatment procedures so that  paint can adhere well to the  plastic’s surface. Otherwise, if the mould is not specially treated then there are high chances that  paint won’t adhere well to the mould. With the use of a plastic  injection  mould machine, it becomes quite easy to complete the painting process quickly while at the same time ensuring that the painting process is undertaken inline with the required measures.

The instructions that need to be followed when painting a plastic car molding  are:

• With the use of an efficient automotive trim removal  machine/ tool, you should  remove the trim from the body of the vehicle. The trim removal machine slides in between  the vehicle’s body and the trim  as the trim is installed with the use of a double-sided tape. The trim should be removed carefully so as to ensure that there are no damages to  the vehicle’s body.

• Once the trim has been removed, the part to be painted should then be wiped using a waxed rag .This rag should also come with a grease remover agent so as to clean the part extensively. This cleaning helps in removing excessive dirt, grease, wax and dust that had built on the trim.

• With the use of a gray auto scuffing pad, you should lightly scuff the trim. This helps in removing any excess gloss surfaces from the trim. This helps in ensuring that the  paint adheres to the surface easily.

• After the trim of the plastic car mould has been prepared for painting, you should then spray the trim’s surface lightly using an adhesion promoter spray.  All that’s required for this  spraying is  light dusting. You should allow this light coat of the adhesion promoter  to dry before applying the primer.

• Once the adhesion has dried, you should then apply  the primer and also allow it time to dry before applying the pain.

• After the primer has dried, you should then use a plastic mould  injection machine to apply 2-3 coats of paint. When spraying the paint, it’s important to ensure that the primer is completely covered. Once the paint has dried, you should then spray a  clear top coat on the trim.

For the best appearance of the painting, you should use a high quality paint as well as ensure that the painting process is undertaken by a highly professional  person who perfectly understands how the whole process should be undertaken. This makes it easy to ensure that  the final paint is smooth and very attractive. The painting process should be done in a sealed room that’s free from dust and dirt among other agents that may interfere with the quality of the paint.
